Kinder Morgan is expanding its Gulf Coast Express Pipeline, investing $455 million to increase natural gas deliveries from the Permian Basin to South Texas by 570 million cubic feet per day by mid-2026. This decision comes after securing long-term transportation agreements.
Additionally, Kinder Morgan is undertaking several other natural gas infrastructure projects in the southern U.S., including:
South System Expansion 4: A $3 billion project to increase South Line capacity by 1.2 billion cubic feet.
South Texas to Houston Market expansion: A $154 million project to add 500 million cubic feet per day capacity.
Evangeline Pass project: A $670 million project to enhance systems in Mississippi and Louisiana, delivering 2 billion cubic feet per day to a LNG facility.
These projects aim to meet the growing demand for natural gas transportation and distribution in the region.

A pair of earthquakes greater than 3.0 magnitude struck within minutes of each other about 30 miles north of Midland on Friday.
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded a 3.4-magnitude quake at 1:25 p.m., and a 3.1 followed at 1:34 p.m.
The area is the site of a 5.1-magnitude temblor that struck Sept. 16. According to USGS data, the area has seen 10 earthquakes of all magnitudes over the past seven days and about 60 over the past 30 days, with most being under 2.0 magnitude.
USGS data show about 500 earthquakes over the past 30 days, from roughly Culberson County in the west to Scurry County in the east. The largest was a 3.8-magnitude tremor on Sept. 26, about 25 miles northwest of Toyah, with a 3.7-magnitude quake a day earlier in the area.

Tropical Storm Oscar formed just east of Turks and Caicos on Saturday morning, the 15th named storm of the season. Tropical Storm Nadine formed off the coast of Belize overnight.
Oscar initially had a low chance of developing, but now has winds of about 40 mph and is headed for the Caribbean, according to an advisory from the National Hurricane Center at 11 a.m. Saturday .
Tropical Storm Oscar is moving west at around 13 mph and is predicted to be stay on this path for the rest of Saturday. The storm will then slow and possibly stall near northeastern Cuba in 36 to 48 hours. After that, if Oscar remains strong, it could move northeast.
Oscar is expected to peak with 50 mph winds near the eastern coast of Cuba. By the middle of next week, a larger weather system will likely absorb Oscar, according to forecasters.
