After reaching back into positive territory last week, the total US Rig Count remained flat this week, with 952 active rigs and is showing signs of plateauing.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures ended Friday’s session up 46 cents to $46.54 per barrel, which is a rise of 5.2% this week over last weeks Friday close of $44.23 per barrel.

The U.S. rig count peaked at 4,530 in 1981. It bottomed out in May of 2016 at 404
