Caddo County is located in western Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 29,600. The county seat of Caddo County is Anadarko, OK. The county was named for the Caddo tribe who were settled here on the reservation in the 1870’s.

Oil and Gas History

The Cement oil fields were discovered in 1911, and by 1924 that field had one hundred producing wells. The Anderson-Pritchard Refinery Company in Cyril stored the oil output from the Cement field. In the early 1930s Anadarko had six oil service businesses. Brief economic boosts due to oil production came to Gracemont in the 1960s, to Carnegie and Lookeba in the 1970s, and to Hydro in the 1980s.

Caddo County currently ranks #14 in Oklahoma for total gas production with 46,456,437 cubic feet of natural gas produced in 2021.

Petroleum

Caddo County currently ranks #31 in Oklahoma for oil production with 1.5MM BBL of oil produced in 2021.
